What is a Clogged TXV Valve on my Heat Pump System?

Updated: Dec 30, 2023

This a example of a clogged TXV. This is the device that tells your evaporator coil how much refrigerant is supposed to receive while in operation. Notice the bottom of it looks like copper and the line at the top is a frozen block of ice. That's because the refrigerant can no longer pass through the valve.
